Raul is a Chartered Civil Engineer who has worked in the design and operation of monitoring schemes for many projects such as deep basements, embankments, roads, bridge foundations and others. He has done this in various capacities during his career in Atkins, May Gurney and more recently in Arup.
He recently accepted an appointment as University Lecturer at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at UCL, where he continues to carry out research and work with industry in the subject.
His work is being widely recognised, and he has acted as invited speaker at many international conferences on the subject of monitoring. He is a convinced advocate that monitoring can have a greater impact on projects that it currently does, if systems were planned, designed and operated properly.
